Mili Review

“A movie that is truly Bone Chilling.”

Mili is a survival thriller movie starring Janhvi Kapoor, Sunny Kaushal and Manoj Pahwa and directed by Mathukutty Xavier. Though, being an adaptation of a 2019 Malayalam film ‘Helen’, it has a lot to promise to a viewer. Mili Naudiyal is a B. Sc Nursing student who lives with his father and has a desire to pursue her further studies in Canada. She’s also a part-time employee in Doon’s kitchen where the main incident of the story takes place. Portraying the role of Mili, Janhvi Kapoor has showed her actual potential and delivered one of her best performances ever, still it’s not perfect. The pacing of the movie is a bit steady, and the first act is entirely dedicated to set up the main characters and their motives. The development for the second act starts soon after the first plot point and the movie starts getting more instance and grimmer. When Mili finds herself locked up in the freezer, every ticking second feels heavier and chiller than the last one. The entire sequence is well written that increases the tension on screen. The background score is probably the strongest element of the movie, composed by the Master of Music A. R. Rahman. Mili is truly a bone chilling movie.

Rating-2.5/5
