“A step towards showing the discomfort and hesitation of men on big screen.”
Doctor G is an exceptional film that is targeted for that type of audience who is eager to see something out of the box. Under the direction of Anubhuti Kashyap, also known for her work in Gangs of Wasseypur, Doctor G tries to entertain a viewer along with pointing at those issues that aren’t wildly discussed. The narrative is mostly based on a medical student, Uday, who’s interested in Orthopedics but ends up taking Gynecologic instead.
The film puts a male character in a female dominant environment and shows his struggle of losing his male touch, which is quite rare in cinema. Ayushmann Khurana was perhaps the best choice to play Uday. His versatility establishes a bond between the character and the audience. The sub-plots also contain the same value as the main plot.
One of them is about the loneliness of a single parent, which is the most noticeable one because of the performance of Sheeba Chaddha who played the role of Uday’s mother. The filming style is positively balanced and the background score is enjoyable. The ending isn’t that powerful but does a fine job. Doctor G is a worthy one-time watch film that won’t disappoint you.
