Kantara (2022) Review

“Another gem from regional cinema!”

Kantara so far is an epic Kannada film that uses a blend of Mythology and Mystery in its storytelling with a slight sprinkle of horror. It explores and presents the regional folklore of Karnataka in such an outstanding style that leaves the viewer in a state of total amazement. It deals with two different concepts, Wealthy vs Poor and Man vs Nature, and brilliantly holds both of them together till the end.

Rishabh Shetty, who is the soul of this entire project, showed a terrific dedication through his direction, writing, and acting as well. Film’s other aspects, Cinematography, action choreography and music, also consist high level of excellence and set a milestone for other filmmakers. Not a single song feels like a waste of time but helps in plot development instead. Its 20 minutes long climax is without any doubt, the best action sequence of the film. Kantara has emerged as the brightest gem in the crown of Kannada Cinema.
